Naming Convention Update
"Participants" are now "Learners"
We’ve made a small but meaningful change across the system: what we used to call “Participants” are now referred to as “Learners”.
Why the change? We believe “Learners” feels more natural, relatable, and in line with how you use the system. It reflects the active journey your people are on—gaining knowledge, skills, and confidence.
Training Library Customisations
Custom Course Categories
While you could previously create custom course categories with your own content, your Activate subscription now allows you to include licensed content, such as our Infection Prevention and Control course. This gives you even greater control over how training is organised and delivered.
Here's how it works: Imagine a new team member is starting. You could create a category like "Support Worker Induction", grouping all essential onboarding courses in one place. This might include your own tailored content alongside training from the NDS Workforce Essentials and Aged Care Fundamentals eLibraries—making it easy for them to find everything they need.
Alternatively, you could set up monthly training categories to help your team progress steadily throughout the year.
This flexibility not only simplifies learning for your team but also ensures your training aligns perfectly with your business rules.

Assess App Improvements
Enrolment Questions for New Events
In Advanced Settings, you can now block enrolment, event sign-in, or event closure if learners haven't answered the required question/s.
Here are some examples of enrolment questions and the action you may want to block:
- Do you agree you can complete all required physical activities? — Block event sign-in if unanswered.
- Do you have any dietary requirements? — Block event enrolment if unanswered.
- Do you wish to apply for recognition of prior learning? — Block event closure if a learner has not answered the question.
Thanks to the new 'Initiated Enrolment' status, Assessors will also have complete visibility of learners who have yet to answer all enrolment questions.
On the event day, Assessors can effortlessly share a QR code, enabling learners to complete their enrolment questions without the need to log in.
Compliance Acknowledgement within Events
Events can now require Assessors (and Trainers) to complete a compliance acknowledgment before assessing an event. If this feature is enabled, events will be blocked from closure until the Assessor has completed the acknowledgment.
This acknowledgment is intended to give you additional peace of mind that all Assessors are complying with your standards.
New Online Progress Section and Stylistic Improvements to the Assess Grid
We have added a new "Online Progress" page to the Assess Grid to remove non-interactive modules from the main screen, making it easier to see an overview of learner progress at a high level. We have also improved how the Assess Grid responds and scales on mobile and tablet to make assessing on the go easier than ever.
You will also notice a refined visual experience with subtle yet impactful stylistic updates to the grid.

Bulk Admin Jobs
New and Updated Actions added to View TrainingOn the View Training page within Manage Participants, administrators can now mark learners as expired or remove courses from them using the “Mark as Expired” and “Delete Course” functions found in the Actions dropdown.
Cancel Job added to Bulk Admin Job
We have added a “Cancel Job” option for Bulk Admin Jobs, so you can easily cancel jobs while they are processing/queued.
Assess App Features
The Assess Grid
The Assess Grid will now show enrolled participants who haven’t been signed into an event yet.
These participants will appear on the list, but they won’t be able to be assessed until they have signed in—their names and functionality will be greyed out, prompting Assessors to sign them in.
This view allows the assessors to quickly determine what competencies and assessments the learner has already completed, allowing them to understand their progress at a glance.
Close Event Reminder
A new configurable reminder has also been added to events to remind Event Organisers to close their event after the end date, improving the flow of post-requisite training.

Bulk Admin Jobs
Bulk Admin Jobs: Course EnrolIn our latest update for Bulk Admin Jobs: Course Enrol, we've introduced two new additions - the ability to bulk apply 100% off coupon codes and bypass prerequisite checks.
100% Off Coupon Codes
In the Course Enrol CSV template, you can now add 100% discount coupon codes, allowing you to bulk enrol learners paid courses for free. Please note that dollar amounts or partial percentages will not be accepted here, as this feature is specifically designed for 100% off discounts.
Bypass Course Prerequisites
Under this new dropdown, if you choose to bypass course prerequisite checks, it will dismiss any prerequisites that appear within your CSV and allow enrolment.
When would I use this feature?
By choosing to "Bypass course prerequisites", you can seamlessly reenrol learners who have already completed a course. Please note that this feature will not function if you have disabled re-enrolment at a bundle level.
